About the Place
The l distance to Knuckles rage from Colombo is approximately 160 km. The nearest town to Knuckles is Hunasgiriya and the nearest city is Kandy. Mini World’s end is an escarpment situated at the southern end of the Knuckles range. Approx 1.2 km walk through the ever green forest will take you to the view point of the knuckles range.  From this location, the panoramic view of the knuckles range and some of the villages situated in the foot hills of knuckles can be seen.

The place is called “Mini world’s end” as it resembles a smaller version of the “world’s end” drop situated at Horton Plains National Park.

SRI PADA -Religious significance is explained as follows

The Buddhist pilgrims climb the 2245m (7242ft) high mountain to honour the legendary footprint of Buddha. Approximately 350000 pilgrims visit this place a year. Sri Pada means "holy footprint".

To the Hindus the mountain is holy for another reason: they call it "Shivas Peak".

Christians from the old Indian Church think that the apostle Thomas have lived there during his mission in India, and the Muslims call it "Adam's Peak" and interpret the footprints as those of the first man.

In BELILENA is the famous largest cave in Sri Lanka. It is located 8km from the town of Kitulgala. It holds evidence of a lost generation of Sri Lanka 12,000 years old; then this cave belonged to the Balangoda People. Paul E. P. Deraniyagala found ten skeletons of people, who the history of religions, Sri Pada is a holy mountain of classic importance Placed 2000 feet above the sea level. The fossils are believed to be more than 32,000 years old.

When should you visit SRI PADA -This is a seasonal tour which starts in December and ends in the Month of May.

Day - 1

Day – 2

Day – 3 
Leave for Colombo after breakfast and on the way visit the hot springs at Kanniyai about 8 km out of town.  Although located within a 10 metre square area, the temperature in the 7 pools varies from warm to hot and the water is known to have curative powers.

 Visit to Velgam Vihara, a Buddhist temple known to Hindus as the Natanar Kovil and the only example of a Tamil Vihara.

Dambulla - Dambulla Vihara has a long historic record. The rock mass is 175 feet in height. There are series of 5 caves turned in to shrines and also are numerous images of the Buddha. The ceiling too is covered with frescoes in which depict great events in the life of Buddha and land marks in the history of Sinhala people. This is also called the Golden rock Temple. It is an interesting climb and you will no dought will enjoy the view of the surrounding.

Sigirya Rock – A massive rock fortress built in 5th century A.D. Some sections of the route which were used during the ancient period to climb the rock cannot be used today. Some have been renovated installing iron railings and some bridges hence the climb is not a difficult one. People visiting Sigiriya could understand that the architecture, painting and the layout of the city, undergroung surface drainage systems have reached a high standard such an early period. Climbing Sigiriya one can enjoy and thrilling experience.

Kataragama - Is 320km from Colombo. There are 4 main places of worship located at Kataragama. God Kataragama is known as skanda or Kanda kumar. The main Devalyais dedicated to Kanda Kunar. Various other Devalas have been constructed in the same premises recently. The Kataragama procession is held during the month of August and the two main items are fire walking and water cutting ceremonies.

Kiri Vehera – It is 30 Meters in height and has a circumference of 87.5 meters.

Sella Kataragama – Connected with Kataragama Devale Sella Kataragama is also a place of worship.According to folk lore it is said that god kataragama met Valliamma at this place. The distance from Kataragama to Sellakataragama is about 5 km.

Vedihitikanda - It is belived that God Kataragama redided at Vedihiti kanda. About 3 km from Kataragama on peck of a mountain is a devale and a bo-tree. Though it is little difficult to climb devotes never fail to climb to the top.

Anuradhapura - There are 8 main places of worship known as Atamasthana. They are Sri Maha Bodi , Ruwanvelisaya ,Thuparama, Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiriya, Jethavanaramaya, Mirisavetiyaand Lankaramaya.

Enroute is the visit to Hasthi Kuchchi, Yapahuwa and Panduwasnuwara.
