Visit the 24 acre Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage with the largest herd of elephants breeding in captivity where you can watch baby elephants feed or frolic in the river waters passing Mawanalla Tea Estate and go on a guided tour around the tea factory and see for yourself how the two leaves and a bud freshly plucked are dried and processed into the world's favourite brew.

Kandy City tour and Dalada Maligawa - Sri Lanka's most venerated Temple of the
Tooth - in which reposes the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. The temple with
Elegant wall murals and wood carvings is Kandy's proud landmark.
Shopping for gems, jewellery and traditional hand-made arts and crafts,
Traditional Kandyan dance performance.
Dinner & overnight stay in a 3 star/comfortable Hotel.

 


After breakfast leave for Royal Botanical Gardens:
Royal Botanical Gardens, situated very close to Kandy with an astonishing array of orchids, rare trees and avenues lined with palm trees is easily the best in botanical garden in Asia.
Just 16 km away from Kandy is a complex of beautiful shrines, one of which is Gadaladeniya, a 14m century temple built of grey stone with interesting pillars and carved stone friezes. Another is Lankathika Viharaya, with massive walls, triple- tiered roof, carved stonework and frescoes, a magnificent structure to behold. The third in the complex is Embakke Devale, famous for exquisite woodcarvings that decorate the rows of over 40 pillars supporting the roof of the pavilion.
After Lunch proceed to Colombo.
